Helping others is a powerful way to make a positive impact on both their lives and your own. When you help others, you often become more aware of the good things in your own life. 

Jaidev Singh Shiledar is a Masters of Human Resources Management student at the University of Windsor in Canada. He is an international student from Punjab, India.

Recently, Jaidev went viral on social media when famous “kindness” influencer Zachery Dereniowski (@MDMotivator) recently posted a video featuring Jaidev.

At the start of the video, Zachery randomly approaches Jaidev in the college cafeteria, as Jaidev is working to complete an assignment. Zach asks Jaidev for a bit of money to buy an apple for him, as Zachery portrayed himself as very hungry and in need. Jaidev did not hesitate to help, as he immediately offered Zach money; Jaidev then even proceeds to go into the cafeteria himself to personally buy warm food for Zach.

Upon returning, Zach mentions that he actually did not need the food… but because Jaidev was so kind to him, Zach pulled out a brand new Apple MacBook Pro from his backpack to give to Jaidev.

NOW starts the real story: Jaidev was extremely delighted at the offer, as his computer was in need of an upgrade. But, instead, he offers to pass the MacBook onto a needier student. “If I gave you a little bit of food, I got a MacBook in return,” says Jaidev to Zach. “Now, if I give a MacBook into the world, I know I will get something much more in return.” Zach, who is completely appalled at Jaidev’s wisdom and generosity, joins Jaidev as they find a new student to confer the MacBook to.

In modern society, where basic tenets of humanity seem to have evaporated and many believe that their own wealth is the only matter of importance, we at ResQ Global are ecstatic and relieved to share that people like Jaidev do, in fact, exist, and are changing the world. I personally believe that he will inspire many more people, as he has inspired me to be greater.

The story doesn’t end here! Jaidev has announced that the money raised from a crowdfunding campaign started by Zachery Dereniowski to support Jaidev’s journey (which raised 20,000 USD!), will be completely donated by Jaidev and his friends to cancer patients in need!

Mr. Shiledar represents the epitome of humanity; we at ResQ wish him the best, as he now joins ResQ Global’s Outreach Committee as its Associate Director!
